Almost 2 weeks...WOW!
So this week has already passed by sooo quickly! I can't believe we are coming on 2 weeks with Enzo! He has been a busy boy for sure...here was his week summed up ;o)
Enzo's week:
- He has been doing a super job on potty training! We are SOOO proud of him! He has had 1 accident this week...funny story though...
- Enzo's Funny story: We were having a BBQ and it got really late, so mommy took Enzo to bed. I kissed him goodnight, locked him in his crate, closed his curtain, and shut the bedroom door. About 30 minutes later my son comes out to get me and says "Mom, uhh, you might want to go see your room, Enzo is having a good ol' time in there" I looked at him and was like "What do you mean, he is in his crate" LOL Well it seems MOM did not latch it all the way, and Enzo was having his own party in my room! I opened the door, and everything was out from underneath my bed, previously hung clothes were strung across my room, my once nicely arranged pillows flung everywhere, and my curtains down on the floor! LOL All the meanwhile a happy Enzo was wagging his tail excited to show his mommy how he redecorated for me! Awww, so sweet! I took pictures on my small camera, but I have not taken them off yet, will do that tomorrow to post! It was a site to see! We all laughed and laughed! Oh not to mention, in the middle of his redecorating, he decided to pee on my floor, right where mommy steps out at night! LOL He really wanted to make sure I felt special! HAHA
- Enzo will do ANYTHING for a treat! I have been working with him on his sit, stay, and lie down. He has picked those cues up so well! He has learned to stand back and wait while I prepare his food and will not move until I give him the signal to go to the bowl! And now I don't even have to say anything, I can just stop, look at him, and he freezes waiting! He is amazing!! I am now teaching him to stop eating on cue. So I am making him step back, take a breath, then continue! My whole family is amazed how fast he is learning!
- He is finally getting his big sister Jersey to play with him! They will even sit, stay, and lie down for treats together. It's very cute!
- He has finally learned how to get his treats out of the Kong! It took him awhile to figure it out, but now he is all over that!
- He sleeps like a champ! This boy can sleep all night no problem! His bedtime is 9-9:30. Once in bed he will sleep straight through till 8am with no problems! Even as late at 9! He is amazing! Once awake, he knows to go straight to the door to go potty! So smart! ;o)
- He has found his voice!!! He knows how to tell us when he wants something...and wants it now. We are working on getting him to calm down a bit from that, due to not wanting to upset the neighbors ;o( He is doing well though!
- Enzos learned what its like to feel tall! As part of our family ritual we do the measuring of heights! So this month was our 6 month date to measure, out came the sharpie, and we made all the kids line up to check the height status! This time, Enzo got to be part of it! We think he enjoyed it...it was cute!
He sits so well for the camera now :o)

He loves his Kong! I think he succesfully got all the treats out this time!

Look how big you are Enzo!

Enzo's new sleepy time palace...
So today daddy took the young ones out for the day, so mom had lots of time on her hands to be with her Enzo. Well I soon found I was bored trying to figure out what I could do during Enzo's nap times. Well it didn't take me long to come up with an idea!
I noticed Enzo sleeps so much better if he has privacy at night due to me being a late night busy bee in the bedroom...So I decided instead of just tossing the blanket over his night time crate it was time for mom to get crafty...so off to Walmart I went to get the needed supplies. Later that day I started building his cover! And VoilĂ , it was done in no time (2 hours actually)!
Now I am just trying to decide if I want to make one for the bigger cage too in the living room due to his nap times being interfered by poking baby fingers LOL I think the next time daddy takes the little ones, I will get to work on the big crate! Plus I can make one to match with our decor, since the crate is like a HUGE piece of furniture now! Haha
So instead of pics of Enzo today...we have pics of his beautiful new crate cover! Or at least I think it is!
Here are some of the supplies I used...of course I had a few things already on hand like the thread! ;o)
The finished product, it fits snugly around his cage and the front flap can open and shut allowing for the door to open. I used the paw print ribbon to line the door openings, and also for the tie backs on top! ;o) I am thinking of adding a small window in the back with the same drop down and tie back option!

Enzo's 1 week celebration!!
We decided tonight to have a campfire "Smores" celebration in honor of our one week with Enzo! What started out to be just family, ended up as a block party! All the neighbors came out to celebrate with us...and Enzo was not complaining! The extra attention was just what he likes!
So out came the Smores for the kiddos, but we got Jersey & Enzo special treats for the celebration! They were happy campers!!
So here are the treats! Both Jersey and Enzo got new toys, and Enzo got some puppy treats cause his big sister Jersey already had some, and he was very jealous! LOL

Kevin gives Enzo his new toy! He checks it out slowly...but it doesn't take long for him to figure out each point squeaks when he bites it! He loves it!

Both Jersey & Enzo definitely KNOW how to sit for a treat! What piggies! LOL

The party in full action...Enzo lovin' it!

Enzo's busy weekend...
Well it’s been one full week with Enzo and I would say that even though he can’t go anywhere YET…his life is anything but boring for sure! He is usually running for his crate for his naptime/downtime rests! Haha… We love our Enzo!
UPDATES: Enzo’s ear is 100% better, he is looking good, and feeling good! He lets us love on him, and is sleeping 10 hours straight at night! He is doing much better on his eating also thank you to volunteer Jeanine with CCLRR for her tips on slowing him down! I think he is now enjoying his food, and NO more hiccups for this little guy! Hooray!
I decided to today to post pics of a weekend with Enzo and his people!
Enzo loves his Parker! He is constantly following him around, watching what he does and where he goes!He loves it when Parker hugs him and loves on him! He even loves Parker shoes...haha...we warned Parker about the shoes! haha

Enzo LOVES watching the boys play! Though he wants nothing to do with the pool! Not that the boys leave much room for him! HAHA But he is always right there to watch over them! And make sure to help out where he can...from helping to clean up any Popsicle spills on the clothing, to wanting to hitch a ride on the quad! He likes to be part of the action!

Enzo also loves his down time to relax with his favorite toy "Mr. Crabs". Mr. Crabs has already had his first hole thanks to Enzos sharp baby teeth, so mommy had to sew him up! I am sure I will be doing that LOTS in the future! LOL

Well we figured since our last attempt to bath him did not go so well, due to deciding not to after spotting his ear...we figured it was about time! He was a stinky pup, and we wanted him clean! Now I have to laugh, because when we were done I wasn't sure if we bathed Enzo or if Enzo took it as his mission to bath his humans! LOL Do we smell? Haha So after we were all done, soaked and laughing, Enzo's favorite part came: The towel drying! Ahhh...he loved mama wrapping him like a burrito drying him off! So cute!

As usual the camera was snapping away. I think Enzo is getting use to the big black plastic thing hovering in his face all day LOL At first he wanted to eat it, now he just looks up like “OK OK, take it already” Sometimes he even barks to tell me to hurry already! Haha! But how can I not take pics of his cute face!

So by the end of his long day...this is what a typical much needed rest from Enzo looks like! LOL Looks comfy eh?

***So its Sunday evening and the night is NOT over yet! T0 celebrate our one week with Enzo we are having a campfire and Smores! Of course NONE for Enzo! We instead bought him a new treat...he will get to open it later! Yay!...I will post more pics of that later...

Off to the Vet...
So again, the morning came way too early after a LONG, LONG night! Enzo woke up his happy self, and ready for his morning routine! I let him out of his cage and he happily pranced to the door to go potty! The looonnnggeesttt potty ever! I think he must have a super baby bladder to hold ALL that in all night! I am so proud of him! As soon as that is done he was ready for his breakfast…he prances right into the kitchen. He is already learning not to jump up while I get his food, and to wait and sit patiently while I poor the food into his bowl and give him the “GO” to eat up! I just wish I could get him to slow down on his chomping! LOL Sometimes he eats so fast he gets the hiccups!
So when all that is done and he was ready for his walk (morning chores on the leash)…I wait until the clock hits 8am, and I immediately call the vet. They make me an appt to bring him right in! So we get ready, and we load him up in the car…he was ready for the ride!
He did amazing at the doctors…he was such a good boy…I was very proud of my brave little guy…even when they went digging in his ear to get a sample…he was so good trying to hold in his whimpers as best he could! After testing the sample they figure out that YEP, Enzo has an infection. So after the Doc gives me my directions, the meds…and of course I grill the Doc on everything I have been saving up to ask someone about my pup…I feel confident and we head for home! I was just so happy my little guy is going to be ok!! I drove home all smiles!
At home today…Enzo was still his normal happy go lucky boy! He is letting me clean his ears, and do his meds like instructed with minimal yelping ;o( He even got the ok from the Doc to up his food a little from what the package said…and let me tell you…he is one happy boy now! LOL the little piggy!
Enzo also successfully got his beagle big sis Jersey to play with him tonight…she was a feisty one…but he kept going back for more! It was funny watching them crazy ALL over the house! Right now they are same size, so it’s funny to watch them…but it will be even better when he is like 4 times her size and she still tries to put him in his place! I haven’t seen her that active in sooo long! She is a lazy Dog…but her tail did not stop wagging…we were all laughing!
Below are some pics of Enzo at his appt. Our big boy weighed in at: 18lbs! Whoo hoo

Poor Poor Enzo...
I think the title of this blog says it all…I noticed Tuesday Enzo seemed to have what looked like a small cut on his outer ear from scratching. We had noticed him scratching A LOT at his ear all day Monday, we were assuming it was the collar, and hoping against fleas! So we wiped the ear up, and watched him closely to discourage anymore scratching throughout the day…He seemed fine, his normal playful self…so we were like OK…give it time to heal…
For some reason he just could not sleep that night...Enzo was whimpering in his cage, so I took him outside… no potty, I loved on him and still he whimpered. I was very sad, what was wrong with my Enzo? I figured maybe I did not tire him out enough before bedtime. So needless to say Wednesday morning came all too quickly!
Our day began nice and super early!! We trudged out the family room do our normal Enzo routine all the while mommy was yawning up a storm!…He played, ate, and was doing the normal Enzo I am so cute love on me…so I did! He whined again when I nuzzled him, I attributed it to his scratch. I immediately apologized nuzzled him again more gently this time and then that’s when I noticed Enzo was a stinky pup! Well you know what that means…so I decided that when the weather warmed up later I would give him his first Enzo bath at home! Hooray! I was hoping to see how he reacted to being washed by us. He seemed to love it at his foster home…but so far the only water he would get near from me was either to drink from his bowl or to have me lightly mist him with our hose while he sunbathed. The kids love the little kiddy pool, but Enzo will walk up and drink the water…and run! LOL…it must be the kids in it!!
So later when it heats up we head outside to get him squeaky clean…I sit in the yard, hose next to me…and I look at his ear again to see the damage and that’s when I looked INSIDE…AHHH…My poor, poor baby! He had Yellow crusty and wet puss looking stuff all inside, and boy did it smell!! No wonder he was whining, and could not sleep…he had an owie more so than the small scratch…and obviously he was scratching at his ear the last two days because it was starting to fester and bother him!! I felt so bad… so I look at the time…too late to take him to the vet now! Morning it will be…
Even in the midst of his pain, he still will pose for mama…I love my Enzo!

So we bare through another long night with our sad pup…giving him extra loves cause we know he needs it…
